Monkeys and preschoolers are surprisingly adept at geometry, challenging our understanding of human intelligence and the role of education. This study, led by Carnegie Mellon University scientists, reveals that our primate relatives possess geometric skills on par with young children, even without formal math education. The research involved a diverse group of participants, including adult monkeys, preschoolers, and Indigenous adults with minimal formal education.
